# AI tools for Threads: how each kind works and what it costs

> AI tools for Threads come in four kinds: browser automation in your logged-in tab, reply assistants where you press Post, apps on Meta's official Threads API, and schedulers. Choose by job: replying to strangers, answering your own commenters, or planning posts. Replyvero, which publishes this guide, belongs to the first kind.

## Which AI tools for Threads are there?

AI tools for Threads fall into four kinds by how they reach your account: extensions that automate your logged-in browser tab, reply assistants that draft a reply while you press Post, web apps on Meta's official Threads API, and schedulers with AI writing help. Replyvero, the Chrome extension this site sells, is in the first group.

How a tool connects matters more than its feature list, because it decides who presses send and what Meta's rules say about it. Every competitor fact below comes from the vendor's own page, opened on October 23, 2026. Prices are copied as listed and change often. We don't rank anyone, and we left out tools whose pages we couldn't open.

[Replia](https://replia.net/) lists Free, $24 and $49 monthly plans for AI drafts, a reply queue and analytics, but as of October 2026 its site asks visitors to join a waitlist and doesn't say how it connects to Threads, so it isn't in the table.

## How does browser automation for Threads work?

Browser automation tools for Threads run inside a Threads tab where you're already logged in and scroll, click and type there for you. They can reply anywhere a person can, including under strangers' posts. Threads' Terms of Use restrict this kind of automated access, whatever the pace.

Section 3(a)(iv) of the [Threads Terms of Use](https://help.instagram.com/769983657850450) bars any "robot, spider, crawlers, scraper or other automatic device, process, software or queries" that accesses Threads to "monitor, extract, copy or collect information or data." So every tool in this group, Replyvero included, carries a risk of restrictions at any pace. Limits lower that risk; they don't make automation something the Terms allow. Meta's [spam policy](https://transparency.meta.com/en-gb/policies/community-standards/spam) also bans posting or engaging "either manually or automatically, at very high frequencies," and allows restrictions at lower frequencies when content is repetitive.

Replyvero searches the For You feed, accounts you follow, keyword results or its Clients mode, where the AI turns two lines about your offer into searches worded the way a buyer writes. Quick rules and then the AI sort up to 300 posts per cycle, and each kept post gets a draft of one or two sentences, under 250 characters, in the post's language. By default every draft waits for you to edit, skip or send; an optional autopilot sends without approval. Both modes share fixed caps: 10 replies an hour, 100 a day, random pauses of 45 to 120 seconds by default, and a 24-hour stop after any Threads warning. The full cycle is on the [Threads auto reply extension page](https://replyvero.com/threads-auto-reply/).

Threads AI, sold at ai-threads.vip, works in the same tab-based way. Its site describes auto-commenting, autoposting rewrites of viral posts, feed parsing and a "client hunter," on desktop and in a mobile browser. In its own comment walkthrough you check the text and press Publish, while other parts of the site say the system runs "24/7" without you.

MindThread, mostly an official-API service, also offers an optional Chrome extension for "browser patrol" that comments and likes for you. Its FAQ calls that extension "a grey area of the platform terms" and sells it only to customers in Taiwan.

## What does a Threads reply assistant do?

A Threads reply assistant is a browser extension that drafts a reply to the post in front of you and puts it in the reply box, while you choose the post and press Post yourself. Sending stays manual, so the cost is your time: you still scroll, pick and send every reply.

The ones we could open, as of October 2026:

- Threads Comment Assistant floats posts with phrases like "looking for" or "how do I" to the top, learns your style from past posts and runs on your own OpenRouter key. Its listing says "nothing automatic."
- [Comment Generator](https://www.comment-generator.com/) lets you pick what the comment should do, such as agree, disagree or add insight. After a 7-day trial with 30 comments, [its pricing page](https://www.comment-generator.com/pricing) lists $9.99 a month per platform.
- AI One-click Reply for Threads puts your own prompt "agents" next to the reply field and bills credits as you go, with 20 free to start.
- ReplyGen sells a separate extension for LinkedIn, X and Threads. Pro costs a one-time $15.99 per platform with 1,500 tokens included, and Pro users can plug in their own Gemini key.
- [Comment Bro for Threads](https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/comment-bro-for-threads/pomdddaobianckpifoadnhkomconjkoi) is free, with 50 comments a day in 16 languages.

AI One-click Reply's listing says unique AI text keeps replies from being flagged as spam. Meta's spam policy also weighs how often an account posts and whether its content repeats, so varied wording covers only part of what it looks at.

Reply assistants fix the blank reply box. When the slow part is finding posts where someone needs what you sell, that search is what Replyvero automates, with drafts as the default.

> **Let Replyvero find the conversations for you.** Describe what you sell. Replyvero searches Threads for people who need it, filters posts by meaning and drafts a short reply for each one. By default you review every draft before it goes out. The first hour is free. Try it free in Telegram: https://t.me/Replyverobot?start=md_threads-ai-tools

## Which Threads tools run on the official API?

Official-API tools connect through Meta's own authorization screen, so they never see your password, and they publish through Meta's servers instead of your browser. Meta lets an app reply under someone else's post only with extra permissions, so most of these tools answer comments under your own posts.

The [Threads API overview](https://developers.facebook.com/documentation/threads/overview) describes the API as a way for apps to "create and publish content on a person's behalf." Meta's [Create Replies documentation](https://developers.facebook.com/docs/threads/retrieve-and-manage-replies/create-replies), updated October 13, 2026, allows a reply when the user owns the root post or the app holds the `threads_keyword_search` or `threads_manage_mentions` permission. Without approved keyword search, the [keyword search endpoint](https://developers.facebook.com/documentation/threads/keyword-search) only searches the user's own posts. With it, each user gets 2,200 queries in a rolling 24 hours, shared by every app they use.

- Elev8or Engage answers replies under your post that contain a keyword, match it exactly, or, in AI mode, any reply. Its page says Threads has no DM API and that you can only reply to people who replied to you first. [Its Engage pricing](https://www.elev8or.io/engage/pricing) starts with a free Starter plan; the AI inbox and other AI features start with Elite, at $22 a month billed annually.
- GoSky AI sells comment auto-replies with keyword conditions and scheduled replies, labeled "Official Meta API" on [its Threads page](https://global.goskyai.com/chatbot-platform/auto-reply-for-threads-comments-en).
- PersonaXpand drafts answers to replies on your posts through the API, in an approval mode or an autonomous one. [Its guide to Threads auto-replies](https://personaxpand.com/blog/threads-auto-reply) says it doesn't automate Threads DMs.
- MindThread runs scheduled posts and auto-replies, plus a keyword "cloud patrol" that comments under other people's posts, by default up to 10 a day per account, with approve-before-send as an option. Its paid plans start at NT$990 a month, about US$32 by MindThread's own estimate.
- RMS Threads Assistant is a desktop app that connects through your own Meta developer app, drafts replies through a relevance filter and a safety check, and sends drafts to Telegram for approval. Publishing slows down at 80% of Meta's daily caps, the vendor says.

On the API route the automated-access clause isn't the issue, since these apps connect the way Meta built for apps. That doesn't make an account untouchable: MindThread's own FAQ says an account can still be restricted when its content breaks Meta's rules. Keyword auto-replies also invite "comment GUIDE and I'll send it" posts, and Meta's spam policy lists like/share-gating, which covers requiring "any other public-facing form of engagement" to unlock exclusive content.

## Schedulers and writing tools with Threads support

Schedulers don't look for conversations. They write, queue and measure your own posts, and the larger ones let you answer comments from one inbox.

Buffer connects a Threads profile that is public and linked to Instagram, and lists publishing, analytics and engagement as available. Multi-post threads go up to 25 posts. [Its pricing page](https://buffer.com/pricing) shows a free plan and Essentials at $5 a month per channel, billed yearly.

Hootsuite schedules and publishes Threads posts, reports post and profile metrics and lets you answer public comments in its Inbox. Its Threads page says Meta doesn't give it access to Threads mentions, audio or polls. [Hootsuite's plans](https://www.hootsuite.com/plans) start at $99 per user a month, billed annually, after a 14-day trial.

[Typefully](https://typefully.com/schedule-threads-posts) writes and schedules Threads posts with AI suggestions and rewrites, and cross-posts to X, LinkedIn and Bluesky. [Its pricing page](https://typefully.com/pricing) lists a free plan with 10 posts a month. When to schedule is a separate question, covered in our guide to [the best time to post on Threads](https://replyvero.com/guides/best-time-to-post-on-threads/).

## Which AI tool for Threads fits your job?

Pick the tool by the job, because no single kind does all of them well. Replying to strangers who need your service, answering your own commenters, planning posts and reading analytics each favor a different kind of tool, and for some of them the free option is Threads itself.

### Finding clients by replying to strangers

This is the job the API serves worst. Browser extensions such as Replyvero and Threads AI search and draft replies across Threads. An API tool can do it only with approved keyword search, so ask the vendor whether its app has that permission. A reply assistant works too if you're happy to run the searches yourself. Our guides on [getting clients on Threads](https://replyvero.com/guides/get-clients-on-threads/) and the [reply guy strategy](https://replyvero.com/guides/reply-guy-strategy/) cover what to search for and what makes a reply worth reading.

### Answering people who comment on your posts

For an instant answer whenever someone comments a keyword, Elev8or and GoSky are built for exactly that. PersonaXpand drafts a fresh answer to each reply instead. Buffer and Hootsuite give you an inbox to answer comments yourself. Replyvero has a source for this job too: it drafts answers to people who commented under your posts in the last 7 days and haven't heard back, one per commenter per post, with no keyword triggers and no DMs. By default each answer waits for you to send it; with autopilot on, they go out without approval.

### Writing and scheduling posts

Buffer, Hootsuite, Typefully and MindThread publish scheduled posts automatically. Replyvero's Posts tab drafts posts in ready formats and can publish them on a schedule (off by default, 1 to 10 a day, at least an hour apart), but only while the extension panel is open. If posts must go out while your laptop is closed, a hosted scheduler does that better.

### Analytics

Start with the free Insights inside Threads; our [Threads Insights guide](https://replyvero.com/guides/threads-insights/) explains what each number means. Hootsuite and Buffer add reports across networks. Replyvero's Results tab is narrower: median likes and replies by post format and reply type, with a tip only once a group has at least three measured texts.

## Where is Replyvero the weaker choice?

Replyvero is the weaker choice when you need a phone, a team, an official API connection or high volume. It runs only in Chrome on a desktop computer, relies on browser automation that Threads' Terms restrict, and caps sending at 100 replies a day on every plan.

- No mobile. Threads AI says it works in a mobile browser, and RMS Threads Assistant sends approvals to Telegram.
- No official API. MindThread, RMS, Elev8or, GoSky and PersonaXpand connect through Meta's own route for apps, so the automated-access clause isn't the issue there.
- No team seats. On PRO, one Replyvero login works in up to 3 browsers; Buffer's Team plan includes unlimited team members, and Hootsuite sells as many seats as you need.
- No keyword-triggered replies and no DMs. Elev8or and GoSky do the keyword job.
- Threads only. Buffer, Hootsuite and PersonaXpand cover several networks, and ReplyGen sells an extension for each of three.
- A short trial. Replyvero gives one hour with up to 30 AI replies; Threads AI gives one day, and Comment Generator and MindThread give seven.

It fits one person or a small business on one real account who wants AI to find the people asking for their service and doesn't mind reading drafts. [PRO costs $19 per 30 days](https://replyvero.com/#pricing).

## Five questions to ask before you connect any tool

1. How does it get into your account: Meta's authorization screen, your logged-in browser, or your password?
2. Who presses send by default, and can you turn automatic sending off?
3. What hourly and daily caps and pauses does it enforce, and what does it do after a Threads warning?
4. Whose AI key pays for the text, and what does a month cost at the volume you plan?
5. Does it promise "no bans"? Section 3(a)(iv) means no automation tool can promise that, and some vendors say so on their own pages.

If an account does get limited, our [Threads shadowban guide](https://replyvero.com/guides/threads-shadowban/) shows where Threads lists restrictions and how to recover.

## Questions and answers

### Can Threads API apps reply to other people's posts?

Only in narrow cases. An app on the official API can answer under a post you published. Under someone else's post it needs Meta's approval for keyword search or for mentions, and most apps don't have either. That's why API tools mostly live in your own comments.

### How do I remove a third-party app from my Threads account?

On threads.com, click More, then Settings, More settings and Website permissions, open Active and click Remove next to the app, according to Meta's Help Center. That list shows apps you connected through Meta's authorization. A browser extension never appears there, so you remove it from your browser's extensions page instead.

### Can Buffer or Hootsuite reply to comments on Threads?

Yes, under your own posts, and you write each answer yourself. Buffer handles Threads comments in its Community tab, and Hootsuite puts public Threads comments into its Inbox. Neither one searches other people's posts for conversations to join.

### What are the Threads API rate limits?

Per profile, Meta allows 250 posts, 1,000 replies and 100 deletions through the API in any rolling 24 hours, according to the API overview updated in December 2025. Keyword search is counted separately, at 2,200 queries a day per user across all apps. Those are hard API caps, and Meta's spam policy can still restrict an account at far lower volumes.

### How much do AI tools for Threads cost?

As listed in October 2026, Comment Bro and several API apps have free plans, paid reply extensions cost about $10 to $30 a month, and ReplyGen sells a one-time license per platform. Hootsuite is the priciest here, from $99 per user a month billed annually. Some tools also bill AI usage on top, in tokens, credits or your own OpenRouter key.
